Human centipede Deconstruction (the nicer part)

  • this is a close up of the fire in the front room.
  • the cremy beige colour in at the sides represents homelyness and being safe. this contrasts the yellow and orange which subvert the usual optimsim and happiness meaning.
  • the crackiling of the wood makes it seem calm and safe adding to the homeliness.
  • continuity editing is used to make the scene more realistic in time.

  • this shot is an establishing shot of the home the girls have just walked into.
  • at a first glance the room looks homely and safe due to the fact that it is and creamy beige colour.
  • the picture in the back of the room separates the sense security and turns its almost dangerous and mysterious. the red in the picture may represent blood or passion for what the man is doing.
  • to add to the homeliness you can hear the sound of the fire place. this naturally reminds the viewer of a safe home environment.
  • continuity editing is used to make the scene more realistic in time.

  • this shot is a close up of the two drinks he is spiking for the girls.
  • the white tablet may represent the purity and innocence of the girls he is about to drug. the green washing up liquid also shows the corruption and illness the man has to want to do this to the girls.
  • you can hear thew poping of the tablet as it hits the water and the rustling of the tablet packet. You also hear the an talking german. He is supposedly calling the car company to fix the car this also adds to the safeness the viewer feels before.
  • continuity editing is used to make the scene more realistic in time.
